This Disclaimer is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. It applies to users of the Service and is also addressed to recipients of delivered content and to any other person affected by a delivery.
1. General Disclaimer
myAngelVault is a digital platform that provides tools for storing and conditionally delivering user-generated content.
The Service provides technical mechanisms — and is honest about what that means. No online service can truthfully know whether a person is alive, incapacitated, or deceased; instead of claiming that certainty, the Service is built around layered safeguards (inactivity signals, escalating check-ins, and human Guardian confirmation). Even so, it does not provide guarantees regarding outcomes, timing, interpretation, or recipient actions, and it does not independently verify death, incapacity, or any other real-world event.
All content delivered through the Service is created solely by users. myAngelVault is a neutral technical intermediary.
2. No Responsibility for Content
myAngelVault does not create, review, approve, endorse, or verify any user-generated content.
Users are solely responsible for:
- the accuracy and legality of their content,
- the intent and meaning of their messages,
- the emotional, personal, financial, or practical impact of delivered content.
Recipients may interpret content differently than intended. myAngelVault assumes no responsibility for such interpretations.
3. Delivery Disclaimer
Content delivery depends on technical systems, automated inactivity signals, user-configured thresholds, third-party confirmations, and external services (email providers, networks, devices).
Delivery is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that:
- delivery will occur,
- delivery will occur at a specific time,
- delivery conditions will be triggered as expected,
- recipients will receive, open, or read the content.
4. Guardian Disclaimer
Guardians act solely as verification facilitators.
Guardians:
- do not initiate content delivery,
- do not modify or control content,
- do not make decisions regarding delivery outcomes.
myAngelVault is not responsible for the actions, inactions, availability, accuracy, or judgments of Guardians.
5. Emotional & Psychological Impact
Content delivered through myAngelVault is, by its nature, deeply personal. It may arrive in connection with the loss of a loved one, and it may include emotional, sensitive, or distressing information. Receiving such content — especially unexpectedly, or in the event of an erroneous or premature delivery — may cause grief, shock, distress, or other strong emotional reactions.
By using the Service, users acknowledge and accept this inherent characteristic of the Service on their own behalf. Recipients access delivered content at their own discretion and are free not to open it.
The Service is not intended to provide emotional support, grief counseling, therapy, or mental health guidance. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, myAngelVault is not responsible for emotional reactions, distress, or psychological effects experienced by any person as a result of the content of delivered messages, the fact of their delivery, their timing, or their non-delivery.
If you are struggling emotionally, please reach out for support. In the United States, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), available 24/7. In the European Union, you can call 112 in an emergency, or contact your local crisis support services.
6. No Emergency Use
The Service is not an emergency notification system and is not a life-detection, medical, or safety monitoring service.
It must not be used for:
- emergency alerts,
- medical notifications,
- safety-critical communications,
- life-saving instructions.
Do not rely on the Service in situations where immediate action is required. If you are experiencing an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
7. No Testamentary Effect; Estate Matters
The Service is not a will, testament, trust, beneficiary designation, or any other estate planning instrument, and content stored in or delivered through the Service has no testamentary effect in any jurisdiction.
Delivery of content — including credentials, keys, or other access information — does not transfer ownership of, or any legal right to, any account, asset, or property. Ownership and inheritance are determined exclusively by applicable law and valid estate planning documents. Recipients who use delivered access information may have legal obligations toward the user's estate and heirs.
myAngelVault bears no responsibility for inheritance disputes, probate matters, or any consequence of a recipient's use of delivered information. See Sections 6.1 and 9 of the Terms of Service for details. Users should consult a qualified estate planning attorney to ensure their use of the Service is consistent with their estate plan.
8. Sensitive Access Information
Storing live access credentials — banking logins, cryptocurrency seed phrases, master passwords — carries inherent risk on any digital platform, anywhere. No online service, however well engineered, can make such material risk-free, and we believe you should be cautious of any service that claims otherwise. myAngelVault is designed for messages, memories, documents, and practical guidance; if you nevertheless choose to store access information (see Section 6.1 of the Terms of Service), that is your own decision, made at your own risk. myAngelVault is not a bank, financial institution, or regulated custodian, and is not liable for any financial loss arising from the storage, delivery, invalidity, or misuse of such information.
9. Third-Party Factors
Delivery and access may be affected by factors beyond our control, including:
- internet connectivity issues,
- email provider limitations (including spam filtering),
- device failures,
- external service outages.
myAngelVault is not responsible for such external factors.
10. Limitation of Reliance
You agree that you use the Service at your own risk.
As with any single channel — postal, legal, or digital — you must not rely on the Service as a sole or guaranteed means of communication, delivery, or notification. We strongly recommend maintaining traditional legal instruments (such as a valid will) and informing a trusted person about important matters through other means as well.
11. Acceptance
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted this Content & Delivery Disclaimer as part of the Terms of Service.
